May 18, 2021

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – May 18, 2020 – CONTROLTEK, a leading provider of tamper-evident cash security packaging, has added the GS1 System of Standards to its cash transportation expertise.

Tom Meehan, CFI, chief strategy officer and chief information security officer; Rubin Press, vice president of global sales; Tani Vatoci, chief information officer; and David Brothers, senior sales manager all completed the GS1 Foundations Certificate Course and mastered the basics of unique product identification.

“Investing in the GS1 Foundations Certificate is just one way we are renewing our commitment to greater cash visibility and advising businesses on the latest cash visibility standards,” said Rod Diplock, chief executive officer at CONTROLTEK. “By becoming certified to use the GS1 System of Standards, our team can use this knowledge to better serve our customers as they face the ever-evolving banking and cash-in-transit industries.”

“The GS1 standard can help businesses improve supply chain visibility, reduce the risk of human error and gain greater insight into the movement of cash,” said Meehan. “After completing this course, I am certain my team and I can continue to educate our customers and industry partners on the importance of standards-based product identification.”

CONTROLTEK has been a longtime supporter of GS1’s Cash Visibility Initiative, which seeks to bring greater transparency and efficiency to cash logistics. CONTROLTEK cash security bags are printed with a Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) to facilitate automatic reconciliation with an electronic shipping manifest and meet GS1’s requirements for cash visibility.
